Three weekend mornings in March, people in Shanghai went for a run and came back to coffee that had been brewing while they were out.

Twice from Circle, a strength gym: once with Stage2, once with MoveCrew. The third from 0566's own door in Jinqiao. Same coffee throughout, roasted by 0566.

Nobody wants a hot drink after a run. You want the cold one, the one that makes you stop talking for a second and just stand there. That was the whole brief.

Three coffees, bottled for three mornings

0566 roast in Jinqiao, so the beans were always going to be theirs. For these mornings they made a small run of bottles with us: three coffees, a colour-coded stopper each, both names on one label. Read the list from the top and it travels from jasmine and mandarin down to rum and toffee. All of it cold, all of it gone by nine. whether the bottles were sold, given away, or made only for these mornings. The line reads as if they were not a retail item.
